Stallion Gold is a buying guide for people who want to own physical gold and silver and are trying to work out where to start. It is published by the Stallion Gold editorial team. No individual author is named, and no one on this site claims a licence, a degree or a career in finance. What you are reading is research, organised and written to be understood by someone buying for the first time.
What you will find here
A homepage that explains the main ways people buy gold and silver and compares the two companies we work with, Augusta Precious Metals and Goldco. Behind it sit guides on the questions that come up most often: rolling a retirement account into a gold IRA, what a free kit really is, whether Fidelity offers a gold IRA, which banks sell coins and bars, how gold has behaved in a recession, what forecasters have said about the price, and how to spot a scam before money moves.
How we compare companies
We look at the same six things for each company and say plainly where one is stronger.
- Track record and complaint handling. How long the company has operated, its Better Business Bureau rating, and any action by a regulator.
- How clearly the process is explained. What happens after you ask for information, who calls, and what you are told before you commit.
- What it sells. Coins, bars, retirement accounts, home delivery.
- Where the metal is held. The depository and custodian, when the company names them.
- What it says about buying metal back. Quoted from the company, with any limits it states.
- Who it suits. Including the amount a company says it works with.
Track record and clarity carry the most weight, because they are what protects a first-time buyer. Neither company was tested by us; we did not place an order with either. The order on the homepage follows what each company says about itself and what independent records show, and it is not a judgement of how your own purchase would go.
Where our facts come from
Company facts come from the company's own pages and its Better Business Bureau profile, read on the date shown in each page's update history. Rules about retirement accounts come from the Internal Revenue Service. Cases of fraud come from the regulator or court that handled them, and each one is linked. If we cannot confirm a fact at its source, we leave it out or write that you should confirm it with the company. We do not print numbers a company does not publish itself.
What we leave out on purpose
- Cost figures. Charges for gold accounts and storage change, and the numbers repeated online are often wrong. Our guides explain where costs come from and tell you what to ask for in writing, but they do not quote amounts.
- Advice. We do not tell you whether to buy, how much, or when. We describe how things work and what the evidence shows. Decisions about retirement money belong with you and, if you want one, a licensed adviser.
How the site earns money
Links to Augusta and Goldco are affiliate links. If you request information or buy through one, the company may pay us a commission, and it costs you nothing extra. That is the only source of income for the site. The affiliate disclosure explains what it does and does not change.
Contact and corrections
This site has no contact form, email address or phone number, so we never collect your details and nothing you read here leads to a call from us. When you request a kit from Augusta or Goldco, you give your details to that company, and it will contact you. For questions about an account or an order, use the company's own support. We re-check each page on a schedule and date every change in its update history, which is how errors get fixed.
